The visit runs from September 12 to September 21, 2025.
At arrival he was welcomed by senior Chinese officials: Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, Vice Governor of Sichuan province Huang Ruixue, Khalil Hashmi (Pakistani Ambassador to China), and China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong.
Besides Chengdu, he is scheduled to visit Shanghai and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

He also visited the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) in Chengdu. During the visit, he was briefed on:
the J-10 fighter jet,
co-production of the JF-17 Thunder,
development of the J-20 stealth 5th-generation aircraft,
unmanned aerial vehicles, automated units, and command & control systems.
He has emphasized expanding cooperation in defence and aviation with China.
His visit is being seen as reinforcing the “all-weather strategic partnership” between Pakistan and China.
Defence cooperation is a central theme. This includes sharing of advanced aircraft technology and possible co-production.
Economically, enhancing trade, connectivity, and investments under CPEC are major goals.
Culturally and diplomatically, the visit is also aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation on global governance, security, and stability issues.
